Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 15, 2026

Tartanilla believes in minimal data collection, maximum transparency. We don't sell your data. We don't serve invasive ads. We don't build creepy profiles about you.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics (not Google Analytics). This collects anonymous, privacy-friendly metrics: page views, referrer URLs, approximate country, and device type. No cookies. No personal identifiers. No cross-site tracking.

If you post a comment, you may provide a name, email address, and website. Your name and comment are public. Your email is never displayed publicly — used only for moderation or replies.

If you sign up for a newsletter, we'll collect only your email address via a reputable provider (e.g., ConvertKit, Buttondown). You can unsubscribe anytime — one click, no questions asked.

Like nearly every website, Cloudflare's servers automatically record IP addresses, timestamps, and requested URLs. These logs are retained temporarily for security and troubleshooting, then automatically deleted.

  • ❌ No third-party advertising networks (no Google Ads, no trackers)
  • ❌ No selling or renting your data to anyone
  • ❌ No cross-site tracking or fingerprinting
  • ❌ No Facebook, TikTok, or "share this post" tracking scripts
  • ❌ No AI training on your comments or behavior

Tartanilla uses zero tracking cookies by default. Cloudflare Analytics is cookieless. If we add a commenting system (e.g., GitHub Discussions) or a newsletter form, those services may set their own essential cookies — but we will always disclose this clearly.

Tartanilla uses the following services. Each has its own privacy policy:

Depending on where you live (e.g., GDPR in Europe, CCPA in California), you may have rights to:

  • Request access to data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your data (e.g., comments)
  • Opt out of any non-essential data collection

To exercise these rights, email privacy@tartanilla.com.

Tartanilla does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us to have it removed.

If we ever change how we handle data — which we hope to never do significantly — we will post the updated policy and note the "last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced on the blog.

🍃 Privacy-first by design: Tartanilla is built to respect you. No surveillance. No creepy ads. Just a blog about tech that actually cares about your privacy.
